Thank you Messybear. I just now read your post. I guess I wasn't paying close attention when I was gathering thoughts to Reg's reply last night. I think everything you said about me was very fair and I appreciate that. and yes everybody here does sometimes get too emotional, and that sometimes includes me as well. I try not to act on my own emotion, but sometimes I do and it usually doesn't end well. I also hope everybody does truly understand that I feel just as horrified as anyone else about what happened in Newtown.

I realize that I am not exactly a popular person here and I am ok with that. But as you pointed out, I also try not to be what might be construed a troll either. And I appreciate that I haven't been just flat out shut out of discussions that I think are important. I know it must seem odd that I really do appreciate DB's talent given our political differences, but I think that is what makes this board really good for discourse. I'm willing to be a punching bag but at the same time Dan has allowed me to say what I think too. Back during GB's tenure, we used to have some really good threads and I miss those. David was very active and vocal (and quite witty) and I miss that too. We also had the crazy conspiracy theories from Kent and lot's of activity. I hope you guys will late me stay if for no other reason than to have some point counter point. Jane, you ignorant slut kind of thing.

I worry about the divide that has been seemingly developing and expanding for some years now (and not just on Obama's watch) and I personally fear that this event in particular is going to take it to a whole new level. But my hope is that everybody (nationwide and not just here) can have rational discussions about it and not just act out of emotion. That was why I started this thread and it got quite a bit of participation as I hoped. But even if it goes off track from time to time, I am totally ok with that.

Kinda par for the course on dbinfosource and always has been.
