Yeah, I mean if Alito and Thomas retire, which both have discussed, Harris could get two justices on the court. So, we'd go from the current 6-3 to a 5-4 with a Democrat appointed majority. However, if Harris wins this election, I'm sure Alito (74) and Thomas (76) try to hang around until 2028 in the hopes a Republican wins the White House again. The rumors are Alito wants out and Thomas, well, that guy is a ticking timebomb. I believe Alito would like to bail quickly to hopefully prevent any further scrutiny on him and his wife.

Obviously, if they stay another 4 years they would be Alito 78, and Thomas 80 when the next presidential election rolls around. That's not out of the question, but I think everyone, including them, know that it would be best for the court if they leave. They have polluted the court with the stink of corruption and scandal.

If Trump won, they would both likely immediately retire, and we'd get Justice Cannon, a truly corrupt nightmare on the court. She is an utter embarrassment but is a near sure thing nomination because she did all she could to scam Trump out of having to suffer the consequences of stealing classified documents and trying to hide that he had them.

Harris has to win this election, then we can see what Alito and Thomas do. I think Alito might bail but Thomas, even though he is older, may try to stick it out. He has no shame and is out of his mind.
