Not even people living here quite understand how the Democratic Party works. It is run through the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The DNC was firmly behind Biden and I know that because the chair, Jaime Harrison, spoke to us last night at our Democratic Party of Georgia committee member meeting AND because I met him and talked to him afterward.  

This chaos falls almost completely on some white (mostly male) mega donors who decided that their money was more important that what the peons who are democrats (like me and most everyone else) wanted. I think I’ve said before that seeing the historic changes/advances that the Biden/Harris team has made for this country, when they wanted to run again, I was ok with that. He did not do everything I wanted him to do AND he did things that I didn’t want him to do, but I will be waiting a loooong time to find a perfect or near perfect candidate. He was the closest to what I wanted if I looked at Trump, the libertarian, RFK Jr (a fucking lunatic), & Dean Phillips and, with his record & history of beating trump, our best shot at defeating authoritarianism. 

Nobody knew it was my birthday, :) I was just bummed that as I was enjoying a nice birthday lunch with my family, I looked up and caught the NBC SPECIAL REPORT  screen on the TV and learned about Biden stepping down. I guess because outside of my real job, political organizing is what I do and it is so much of my life that getting news like this on my bday was just sad to me.  I’m picking myself up and gearing up for Kamala Harris 2024 campaign now though…
