What I love about the right is that all of their "science" is put forth by entities such as oil, gas and mineral interests and here the Sierra Club has a non-entity (our environment) for an interest group.

Frankly, it's almost worthless trying to engage those on the right on this board. Almost all of their answers are based in saracastic and loaded statements that continually ignore facts and proven data.

For example, Peter T. posts an article and asks pointed questions and then Pat Brown immediately dismisses any facts in the article because of the source that printed the article. Never was the content of the article disproven.

As for Dean's power base being the far left, well, I'm sorry but in primaries this is often what happens. Just who did Shrub go towards in 2000? The far right - remember, in SC he went to Bob Jones Univ, spread rumors that McCain had a black love child and accused McCain of basically traitorious activity. Those candidates who can excite the largest voting block of their side usually do well. And what a lot of people are missing is that many Dems, including myself, are just as angry with the Washington Dems as the Bushies. And this is what is appealing about Dean to us.

Note to Pat: Lieberman actually fired the first shot across Gore's bow. If you go back to after the end of the 2000 mess, Lieberman blamed Gore for their loss - do you recall he said Gore lost the election because he decided upon too much of a populist theme? He was also critical of Gore on other issues as well. So for what it is worth to me, Lieberman can pound sand with his tiny Bush-Lite fists.

As for Dean's tendency to put his foot in his mouth...heck, they all do that, but what gets me is how correct he was in regards to his comment that America is not safer with the simple capture of Hussein. Three more soliders were killed today, planes are being grounded, the US is on a heightened threat level and those on the right are ridiculing Dean on statements he made that are actually true.....sure, the world is a better place with that jerk caught, but because we failed to properly go after Bin Laden and Al Queda and took out Hussein, we are no better off....
