As you mentioned, "They told the government they could have their money in two days if they can show them the law that says they must pay it."

The law they are looking for is the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. It reads:

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

Please find a way to get this information to them immediately, this will prevent the Ruby Ridge-type violence you spoke of.
