I do always get a twinge of guilt whenever I write about something that seems horrible, like I really did not need to add this to people's day. Like I reread and think, should I delete that? I could give someone a nightmare with that!

I have been having a bad time for a while dealing with some lousy shit, shit I did not create but is now part of my day to day. Some of the news with what is going on in the world sometimes is just like piling on, my mind explodes and I end up sitting there going "You've got to be fucking kidding!"

What I really like about you guys here, is you remind me, over and over, that I am not alone in this. There are a lot of us going 'WTF!" on a regular basis.

The thing about this Supreme Court ruling that shook me was, I generally always feel like we are going to win this thing, there is no way that a bunch of morons like Donald Trump and the idiots that actually think he is some kind of great guy could ever destroy this country.

Then the court pulls that stunt, it is so blatantly not something they should be doing, and it is like they just pulled the key brinks out of the foundation so the nation is now teetering. It's like they set the clock on the time bomb and it is now ticking down and the question is "Can we disarm this before it goes off?"

I did not believe that the Supreme Court would do it, I mean I know that Thomas and Alito are totally insane, married to insane people, but I hoped the rest of the court, while not great, would not try to destroy the way our democracy functions. And then they did.

To get to a autocracy, to shatter democracy, you do first have to destroy the justice system. The simplest way to do that is to create a way to put a leader above the law. In terms of common sense, any sane person would not do that, because then you are asking for someone to step up and take advantage of that...and it is only a matter of time before someone does. Trump obviously want to be the first guy to do it, but many others now see the opening and they all want to get their chance.

What the court did was set the stage for it to happen. Now it can, if someone is willing to use the power they gave them. If Trump got elected in November, there were still things he would need to break to be untethered, now the path to being a dictator is much simpler.
