Well, we may be at that moment. This is not a good day for our country, our constitution, for our justice system, for our future on this planet.
Our Supreme Court, which has been established as corrupt, ruled today that a president has absolute immunity. Meaning, the one person that is above the law in the United States is the president. If the president declares something an official act, no matter how heinous and corrupt it is, he or she can declare it an official act and therefore, cannot be charged with a crime.
This means there is no more separation of powers in our system of government. The president is now a king, an emperor if you will, that is above all the other branches of government. He has been granted the power to use the justice system, his justice department, to prosecute whomever he wants at his own discretion, he can order someone killed at his own discretion, and can arrest or murder political rivals as an "official duty" if he or she so desires. No prosecution can be brought.
In other words, if Joe Biden really had ordered his justice department to go after Trump...not a crime. If Biden declared Trump the biggest enemy of our nation, he can have him killed...not a crime.
This is so absurd and stupid I don't even know what to say. Basically, democracy is now at the discretion of the president. If we elect someone, like Trump, that does not believe in a democratic system...we are done as a country.
Our system of justice collapsed today. You can say I am overreacting, but I'm not. We went from a system of justice where nobody was above the law to the president is above the law and will decide what is the law.
All it will take is to elect a maniac that will take full advantage of this power and the country will unravel at light speed. And we all know Trump is a maniac that is obsessed with revenge and ultimate power.
The thing is though, even if we do manage to not elect Trump, the maniacs that will now seek the presidency will be rushing to get on a ballot.
This is the worst day in the history of our nation. I can't believe it has come and dread the days this may bring about.
I stand brokenhearted with all of you that believe in democracy and what our founding fathers tried to establish.
