I think you go back to 2014...ish when he lost his stooge President in the Ukraine who eventually had to flee and that is when he started to feel like Ukraine was slipping away from him. Ukraine was talking about joining the EU. Having a neighbour that was prosperous and in the EU would make him worried that Russians would want the same prosperity and freedoms. Now we now that doesn't work for toe tally tarians. And I think he genuinely feels that Ukrainians are just basically western Russians. Whatever he was feeling he well and truly lost his shit invading Ukraine. Russians are generally despised by Poles, Lithuanians, Finns, and a whole menagerie of fiefdoms along the Baltic coast. it was never going to end well for him. I wouldn't be surprised if some oligarchs try to overthrown him. Look at how crazy things nearly got with that bloke who ran Wagner group. His time is running out Reg.
