I agree about Del Amitri, Reg. The latest CD did feel like they knew their time was up, and it was full of drug references, so maybe you're right about the addiction too? I visit the UK DA site infrequently (unlike here - every day...). Justin Currie is performing as lead singer in a "supergroup" from 23-26th August in Scotland. They're called "Button Up" and include two members of The Proclaimers, a guitarist for Marianne Faithfull and some other bod that I'd never heard of. They play jazz infused standards. (not my scene). As to the rest of the band, rumour has it that one is teaching and one is driving a London bus. I guess they've got to live...

One interesting concept on the DA site was that the regular posters recommended a CD for another poster to review - they had a week or two to beg, borrow or steal the CD and then write what they thought. They were mostly serious suggestions and quite a few rate a mention on this site too - Damien Rice, Alex Lloyd, Lloyd Cole, Everything but the girl. One I'd not heard of was Tom McRae ("Just like blood"). Does anyone here know of this fellow?
