Actually....there is a direct flight, to and from here (Washington DC, Dulles Airport) to Jo-Burg. I think it takes something on the order of 15 -17 hours. (that's not too bad...I flew from LA to Sydney in 14 hours, 2 years ago). We have SAA here at Dulles. Other major US airports are LaGuardia and JFK in New York. Just got the direct flight last year.
I "booked" a sample. Not bad at all...a good chunk of the fare was TAX, total just under 2,000.00 US for a return flight.
Hmmmm....maybe we really should plan something! : )
