If we have conclusive evidence that Iraq has, or will soon have, a nuclear weapon, would you still wait for the blessing of the UN prior to acting?

Call me naive but I just don't see oil as being the primary reason for the impending invasion. I have to believe that Bush/Cheney have intelligence reports that an incredible threat exists to the United States(and remember, my disdain for these guys is immense). What I don't understand is why they haven't been able to present it to the naysayers (Germany, France, and most importantly, the American public). If this is only about settling an old family score, or securing oil fields, well, the administration will be committing political suicide and will have revealed themselves as being major league scumbags. God knows I hate giving these guys the benefit of the doubt but it seems to me that in the course of time we will learn that intelligence exists regarding a significant threat to our country. As I said in my post of a few days ago, only a nuclear threat would satisfy me that an invasion is warranted.
