of that media-machine nag impulse?

Referees, not the players,
Determining the outcome of the game....
Fact or fiction; several mocking foibles of this 21st century won’t stand the test of time.
& the convenient misuse of referees is just one of ‘em. Be it the refs, themselves...
holding a star-studded opinion of their own media value,
or the other possibility that really sends a shudder.
