The whole "steel curtain" team was pounding steroids like there was no tomorrow. And for some, there barely was a tomorrow. Mike Webster, former Badger and hall-of-fame center, croaked in his station wagon suffering from severe mental illness. And who was it that just swilled a gallon of anti-freeze because the authorities were closing in on all his illegal activities?
This run by the Steelers may well have been their most impressive. Coming out of the sixth seed and winning all those games on the road? So what if they had to make some contributions to the ref's retirement fund.
