It seems like every single election cycle (and scandal cycle), after the big nothing burgers have been realized after an endless and meaningless study of each, the media does an entire recrimination tour whining about how it failed to cover the big story the proper way and THIS is what I see going on with Biden and his age (just today while looking over the headlines, one news/punditry site - I forget which one - finally made a mention of how the media is driving the Biden age worry story).
This piece I saw is most certainly the first of what will later turn into an avalanche of "we, the Media, fucked up again and we promise not to do it until the next time."
The media, by focusing on Biden's age, gaffes, and stumbles, is kneecapping him with a pack dog mentality, and mark my words, later on, and it may be years from now after Biden's career is over, the recriminations will again be out in full force over the media's horrible coverage of Biden's age and mental state.
It's like I told a friend just yesterday - that if you ask anyone if they are surprised at what Biden and the Democrats have accomplished with what they have had to work with (razor-thin Senate majority, no majority in the House, and a corrupt US Supreme Ct, et cetera), and that person says "no," then that person is full of shit.
Not only that, too many Americans continue to ignore Biden's political psychology and how his age and past political life influences how he deals with political foes and paint that as a weakness, rather than one aspect of how he gets things done. Yes, I want to see him really kick some ass, but I also know that that is not always within his own nature and that is okay because at the end of the day, this supposed senile and helpless old man seems to keep kicking ass and even with a media that follows him around like people that want to see blood, gore, and horror.
On top of all this, how this country, society, and our culture treats the elderly and wise really pisses me off, too. What I see is a country fixated on youth, beauty, and the inexperienced over those of the aged, wise, and experienced. Not only that, in our current societal climate, I keep seeing those who have paid their dues in age and service seem to be so casually pushed aside after doing their part in appeasement to the younger crowd that has yet to pay their dues.
