MJG thinks that looking at politics through any sort of old lens no longer works if you want to try to sort out how things may play out. Hence my everything is broken response. That's how I took it.

Yes, basically, I am a Democrat from Boston. I don't think that is really different than anywhere else. I do think there are different types of Democrats and Republicans, it is not a one size fits all kind of thing. I think the Republicans are in a mighty struggle between the MAGA Republicans and the other kinds of Republicans that is killing their party.

On RFK Jr., yes, I like him. It's not a Boston thing, or anything like that. I think he is a good man that could be a great leader. A compassionate and intelligent person that will bring those traits to the job. I believe he is the only candidate that could bring people in this country back together and he is most certainly the only one that is speaking to everyone. He also really is beholden to no one, and I like that. He is one of the few people that would and can stand up to any entity that is trying to rape and pillage this country. The Democrats and many in the media are frantically trying to make him look like a nut and make him go away. They do not want him to run in Iowa or New Hampshire and they are literally attempting to change the rules to harm him for doing so. They would like him to step out of the race before any voting begins to avoid any "embarrassment of Joe Biden" which their approach toward making Bobby go away is already doing. It is a bad look for Democrats to do this.

How bad? Well, they are giving FOX news layups like this:

Why would you give FOX and Republicans this kind of ammo?

So, how this breaks down is, the Democrats will say this is RFK's own fault. He should have stepped aside when we asked him to. They will point the finger at Bobby and say he is embarrassing Biden by running in these states. No, that's a total falsehood. That is democracy, candidates put their names in to run, the people vote, they get to choose who they want to represent them.

Well, interesting that the Republicans are pretty much doing that in their primary, sure there are Republicans filing lawsuits to have Trump disqualified but that's because Trump is a criminal. I know letting the process play out is not going well for Republicans but they are letting it play out. If they can bring Trump down, they will, but if they can't, Trump and all of his felonies and sexual assault will be their guy. He'll lose, but it will be an honest loss.

The Democrats are saying "What primary? We are not having a primary. We already have our candidate."

To that, I can only respond "Seriously?"

I am just mentioning all this so people like us, me, you, Peter, EEE, all of us that are going to vote for a Democrat, understand why an election against a guy that has been charged with 91 felonies is a goddamn neck and neck horse race that could come down to a photo finish.

This should not be the case and you can't just blame the MAGA nuts for it. Sure, they are part of the problem, but mainly they are the Republicans problem. The Democrats, unbelievably, create problems for themselves that did not need to be there.

Probably the weirdest part of this election cycle is the two main frontrunners Biden and Trump both have horrific favorability numbers and there are question marks, huge ones, hanging over if either of them will actually be their party's candidate in 2024. They both almost seem like they are out there to draw fire until the real candidates step in.
