One would think that after a lifetime of encountering true bullies in life, such a discovery would have been more quickly latched on to, but until recently, one large part of it had escaped my thinking.
Still, for so long, it has always baffled me over how so many people could, and still do, think that Trump is any sort of advocate for them when he has clearly shown that the only person he cares about is himself - and this is in all aspects of his life, from the physical, behavioral, to mental, to psychological - all of it. It all comes down to if a person, thing, concept, or anything else, is to be in Trump's favor, such things are only useful for him so long as they are useful.
So, how is it that with all of his examples of leaving others behind and turning on anyone no longer useful to him, he still maintains such a loyal following? It is because when one looks at bullies, it is not uncommon for people to ignore, or even approve, a bully's behavior so long as the bully's attention is directed elsewhere, especially when not directed at them. This phenomenon is even stronger when the crowd not being victimized perceives that the bully is attacking or defending them from their perceived similar foes (and a foe could be anyone or anything - from an ideology to a can of Bud Light).
To me, it is so odd that I never assigned this sort of Bully Reptilian brain aspect to Donald Trump because of my own past experiences with bullies and especially after seeing so much of it.
Yes, years ago I even read a piece that pointed out how MAGA people perceived Trump to be their David to the Goliath, but that aspect has an assignation of decency attached to it via David, whereas Trump as a David is nothing like that of being a true David.
He is more like a Godzilla that these people gleefully cheer on as long as Godzilla is destroying the right things to them and they will only do so for as long as the bully refuses to bully them and it wouldn't surprise me one bit that if the largest majority of the MAGA crowd are bullies themselves.
