I know exactly what a mob can do - I was at a game at Camp Randall with 78K others about eight years ago where a bunch of people got trampled. The student section tried to swarm the field after a big win, and were held back until a big section collapsed. The problem there was the PIGFUCKERS not having a damn clue as to what to do to prevent or even react once the mayhem ensued. So dozens were seriously stomped so that the artificial turf wouldn't get stepped on.

Those officers last night were hired to maintain order in an environment where the fans are being encouraged to consume as much beer as possible, where ABC television cameras are panning the crowd for the most outrageous behavior - and the best they can do is spray the crowd with an irritant?

Pepper spray a crowd. Gee, I wonder if that could cause more problems than it solves? What a bunch of bumbling fools. Hopefully they got lots of good footage for the next installment of the Police Acadamy movies.
