Count me out, I'm not for Imus being fired. I'd call it weinism gone wild. Hypocritical doesn't even begin to paint the true picture.

In any case Reg, I too view this an assault on the freedom of speech portion of 1st Amendment.

But that's not the reason for my response. I'd be so insulted if I were one of those 'amazing' Rutgers girl basketball players the media continues to be amazed by. Oh yeah, and the notion this is somehow going to scar their lives.

peaceably

ps I was worried you might whiff that one Ed; are people really that outraged? I just don't see the outrage; and I wish I caught the entirety of Charlie Roses retrospective with Mr Vonnegut.

pss One of the things Mr Vonnegut said was that the worst thing that could happen to a young writer was for someone from the English Department to compare the young writer with a renowned master. Part of the idea, that both gentlemen riffed on, was how a writer was better served comin- up another way. Vonnegut studied chemistry I think he said. That's a long way around of saying there's still time Reg.

psss Isn't there a Jeff Wells hereabouts? I ask because I came across this blog by a Jeff Wells, which was rather interesting and well written. A Canadian fellow actually, but there was no mention of visual artistry in his bio, which it occurs is how the Wells here expresses himself graphically.

Anyhow, sleep
