Well said, David, says it all pretty much in a nutshell. I was feeling a little surly when I wrote that last night, Reg, but really, am I that out of line?
Tell me true...would you vote for John Kerry simply in support of him, or is a large part of your motivation to vote that way, more a reflection of voting away/against GWB?
At first, I thought Kerry's "modifications" of earlier stated positions, was healthy, because a good leader should be able to change his course if things are not going well, and I'd like to have a leader who will do that. But really...gimme a break. This guy just says things pretty much on the spur of the moment, and will stop on a dime to get something out there if he thinks it will get him a vote. Nice strategy if he is just using this play as a means to get elected, and then he will calm down and become a rational leader later ie let the end justify the means. I'm hoping that's what is up his sleeve, but he leaves me seriously scratching my head at times, and I don't have a lot of hair up there left to scratch.
His approach seems to be.."you want that? Hell, I'll do that...oh, you want that also? Well allright". If he panders to special interests that easily on Capitol Hill...we may be in for a big mess. I only hope that if he gets elected, we see some action.
