That makes a little more sense to me, I think he would welcome arrest, I believe his point is to confront the law as unconstitutional. I'm not sure it's an arrestable offense. That's the problem with our out-of-control proposition machine here in CA, I'm a proponent of self-legislation, but with the professional signature-gatherers, anyone with a few million can get a prop. approved. The one in question (I believe) has no enforcement section, so how do authorities force S.F. to stop? And its not just the mayor, almost the entire city/county administration is involved, kinda of hard to drag'em all off in cuffs, and the mayor has stated that he won't stop (conversely will stop) until ordered to do so by a court. He's essentially creating a slew of test cases to test the constitutionality (under CA law) of the marriage law. Also, what they did is make the form gender neutral, so they are not specifically endorsing any type of civil marriage, its really the applicants that are technically breaking the law. State officials are trying to do an end-around the issue by saying the forms are invalid because altering an official CA form renders it void.

I also agree with you in wishing I was a little more eloquent, hell legible, in my writing. I'm off on my hour commute to my home in the woods, where I'll hoist a pint, or six, to this board and all others looking for a little happiness in all the madness . . .
