Meaning, that money, the money that was floating around after WWII, is still backing our current crop of fascists? 

Here is a game I play in these times, I would call it Dupe or Player. 

Essentially, the goal is to guess when you see one of these clowns spouting off about nutty fascist garbage, are they a dupe (someone being used unknowingly or that has been compromised and knows it) or a player (an actual string puller). Easy examples:

Trump = Dupe

Putin = Player

Ron Johnson = Dupe probably compromised and knows it.

Marge Greene = Dupe (totally obvious, likely does not know)

Rupert Murdoch and sons = Player

Mike Johnson = Dupe (maybe compromised and knows it)

Stephen Miller = Well, he appears to be a dupe, but seems pretty proud of it. 

Steve Bannon = He seems too weak to be a player so another knowing dupe.

Lots of examples really but then we get to a guy like Russell Vought and what is he? Is he backed by that old money you are talking about and is he a dupe or a player?

Listening to him, I think dupe, but what do you think?

I am always wondering who are the people actually calling the shots? 

Vought to me seems like Bannon, a guy that wants to be a shot caller but is really just a guy to be used. 

Now there is one little catch and that is sometimes I think a Dupe that knows they are compromised and so goes along knowing that, begins to think of themselves as a player.
