I'm taking a class called Mobilize 2024 through the Gaia Leadership Project to prepare for working on the upcoming local, state, federal, and presidential campaigns. There are a variety of guest speakers such as Anat Shenker-Osorio, a messaging expert; Leah Greenberg, a founder of Indivisible; Travis Akers, a candidate and formerly on Elizabeth Warren's campaign team; Malcolm Kenyatta, former State Rep of PA and former PA Senate Candidate; Santiago Mayer, Founder of Voters of Tomorrow; and Victor Shi, another GenZ leader; among others. What I'm learning from them is the messaging that works best to reach people who have truly not decided who they are voting for. You talk about a VISION that everyone has in common: everyone wants to be able to chose the healthcare that they want. Then you talk about the VILLAIN: but right now Republicans have taken away my daughter's ability to chose the reproductive healthcare that she wants. Last you talk about your VISION: I support people who work to make sure that women have access to the healthcare that they in coordination with their doctor, decide they want.
On the other hand, I know some don't think Biden is fighting hard enough but just last night, as it became clear the Republicans were sinking the bipartisan border bill they were crafting with Democrats, he said "But if the bill fails, I want to be absolutely clear about something. The American people are going to know why it fails. I'll be taking this issue to the country… the American people are going to know the reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump." I have no doubt that Biden will do this.
I also heard that Gaetz, Stefanik, and more than 60 other trump ass-kissers introduced a bill in the House that says that trump did NOT "engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States" on January 6, 2021. That is to try to get past the 14 amendment which says that trump would not be able to run for office if he did. They're thinking that this will prevent states from kicking trump off of the ballot.
