Icon Someone needs to teach the Dems what to do in a knife fight....

I have never seen a more impotent group of politicians squander so many opportunities when it comes to the theatrics of politics and the ability to gain benefits from "working the ref."

And to me, the blinking red warning light for the Democrats is this: a candidate like Biden should be up ten to fifteen points with an opponent like Trump.  Now, I do not believe the polls.  I think there is some sort of data collection methodology, but still, the Dems are doing a horrible job crafting the narrative.

For example, has anyone seen any Democrat forcefully point out that all the MAGA/Rethugs keep declaring the "world is on fire" but at the same time, they are wasting valuable time and money on an impeachment that is going to FAIL in the Senate?  There is no way the Senate is going to convict Mayorkas. (I'm hoping that the Senate has the ability to take a vote on this impeachment when it happens, and it is going to happen before the Rethugs even get to offer their "evidence."  Maybe a procedural vote or something).

Next, why are the Dems not pointing out Mayorkas's heritage of being Latino while pointing out this is how the Rethugs really treat people of color?

Then, when are the Democrats going to ever effectively deal with networks that allow these liars to come on television and repeatedly lie?  I want to hear of Jeffries and Schumer taking these networks to the woodshed over the continued booking of these assholes that just lie and refuse to believe that a few well-placed phone calls to some influential people wouldn't change this somewhat.

And here is something else that is bizarre - how is that the Dems are incapable of developing ads like The Lincoln Project?  My thought on that is that they do not want to.

I mean here is an ad I would love to see played in all the markets where the demographics trend to retirees and older people:  Imagine an ad that pretends it is Jan 2025 and Trump has been inaugurated as the next president with a Republican Congress.  The focal points are retirees and one of them is an elderly woman holding a can of dog food and a medication bottle with the voice-over stating how with the Republicans in control of the White House and Congress cuts to SS and Medicare make it so she can only afford food or medication.

Lastly, what the Democrats have failed to learn about Trump is this: even though it is factually incorrect, MAGA supporters deeply believe that Trump WILL fight for them to the end (even though he has shown time and time again he will not - THAT is how powerful this disconnect is).

People just do not feel this toward Democrats and that is one thing I have never been able to figure out, but it is there.
