To me it looks like they keep setting themselves up for failure specifically so that they can continue to whine about stuff. There were no grounds for impeachment so that was DOA, you can't impeach someone with no grounds. I know it is supposed to be a "revenge impeachment" just like the attempt to impeach Biden, but you have to show there are grounds for an impeachment before you try to have one. 

I think they just did it to pretend that the Biden administration is doing nothing at the border but Biden undercut that offering them a border deal that is stricter than anything proposed while Trump was president so, and it was a deal drawn up by Republicans, now they don't want that deal because it would fix the border situation and Trump panicked when he saw that and is asking Republicans not to do it because if things are better at the border he does not have that to run on. 

So, it seems like they want to fail, they want the country to fail, they want to do as much harm as possible, so these impeachments, all this stuff is just noise for right wing media. So they can talk about it. 

Republican and success do not belong in the same sentence anymore. They are the party of intentional failure.
