It is true that the chances that there is life out there beyond our little blue ball are ridiculously high but also true that the chances are ridiculously high we will never come into contact with it.

I think a lot of people sell us short on how creative we can be as a species and how much we love to impress or fool each other. I mean we are bunch of mischievous little bastards. I love a good con as much as the next guy and nothing is more fun than bullshitting a bullshitter.

As far as what comes next after we shuffle off this mortal coil, I am no expert nor do I take issue with whatever anybody wants to believe might happen. It just occurs to me when scenarios are presented it would probably be best if we focused on what we know we do have...which is this life and each other.

While our focus as a species is often drawn to what somebody else may be doing to us to harm us, kill us, make our lives more miserable it should be noted that there are people out there every day that are solving problems for people they will never meet, saving lives, making the lives of billions of people better and just being good stewards in trying to make the world a better place. We're not all bad and really we can be truly amazing creatures when we want to be.

I don't think there are any little green men watching us. I mean we are not yet that interesting. Plus if they watched enough to know we elected a moronic clown like Trump they probably think we are a complete dead end as a species. That kind of thing does not speak well of us.

If there is a "god" and all this is his/her creation...best I can say about the divine entity is he/she is kind of a shit.
