She did explain the hug when she came to sit with me at the bar and I said "Wow, that was one hell of a hug!"

Basically, she had a rough time with the previous guy in her life, had married her high school sweetheart, that went bad...real bad...and she had been hesitant to get back into anything with men. Being pretty she saw as a curse because guys would hit on her all the time but it just made her uncomfortable.

She had been listening to me chatting with other people in the bar, all friends of Levon, and somehow decided this is a really good guy and she really wanted a hug. Had not been in a guys arms and felt good about it in a long, long, time. So, when I stood up she decided she was going to get herself a hug and if it didn't go well it would be short and if it went well it would be a long hug...it went far better than she could have imagined I guess so she lost track of time.

Hey, I like hugs too and in times like this...just being able to remember a hug like that is a big deal.

On David's move to New York, I know as much as you. I don't think he would have moved there because he was looking to expand upon his musical endeavors but he did move into one of the publishing hubs of the world so, perhaps a better place to be as a novelist.

I think you are right that Graham Parker may live up there (I know he also played at Levon's) but so do people like Larry Campbell. So, whenever the Covid stuff ends maybe he'll bump into some people. I mean it's not LA where you can't throw a rock without hitting a guitar player but there are a bunch of musicians there. I sincerely doubt that's why he is there though.

I believe another friend of David's and former member of the board here is living out in the Berkshires as well. So, he's in a good spot and boy do I have a connection for him if he needs or wants it. Ha!

Anyway, I'm with you, Peter, and I am dreaming of this all being over and returning to a life where I can see live music, go to a restaurant, travel, meet people and hug them.

Oh, and one minor tip for David living in Kingston. My brother-in-law owns an ice cream company that made their ice cream out of a dairy in Kingston. The ice cream is only sold in New York and so if David is going out to the market and wants a pint of ice cream, look for the green and white Adirondack creamery containers and pick up a pint. My personal favorite Kulfi-Pistachio Cardamom. For those of us not in New York...well...you'll have to visit to get some.
