I learned things I did not know listening. David is living in New York now, not the city but he wisely relocated to Kingston, which is nice and near Woodstock and Levon Helm's old place. So, he's basically down the end of the Mass Pike. 

The question not really addressed about David's move to New York was where did that leave him in terms of making music. I would think not in LA he is no longer working on film or television music nor working in songwriting sessions with developing artists. I get the sense he is essentially retired and now is going to spend his time writing...novels not music. Which is great if that's what he wants to do. There are plenty of musicians, really good ones, up in the area where he lives so he could hook up with people to play with were that his choice. 

The gentleman that does the interview does not ask what prompted David's move to New York but I would guess it was born out of the change in what he is doing. 

He talks about his Covid mask, which is funny and if he is wearing that around town when he goes out he will stand out.
