...and here lies the issue. Everybody in Washington, be they Democrat or Republican, they all know Trump should be impeached. They all know what the Mueller report says is they need to take up the impeachment process. The Democrats are proceeding slowly and with caution, while the Republicans keep screaming about impeachment. Oddly, our Attorney General wrote his summary memo to lie and stall and then went on TV to create a highlight reel for FOX News. He said the exact opposite of what the report says obviously to provide time and cover for Trump. Why anybody would set themselves on fire for Trump is beyond me.So, what Pelosi is doing right now is actually correct. She is not pushing for impeachment because there needs to be hearings and it would be during or after the hearings that a decision would be made on if they should impeach.
The Republicans don't want those hearings because they know the report details the fact that Trump should be impeached. So, if they have the hearings the Republicans are in a spot where they have to defend impeachable offenses.
It also exposes the bizarre fantasyland that these people try to create for Republican voters. Team Trump and the Attorney General are selling this total lie about "no collusion" and "exoneration" but the report says the complete opposite of that. The report says the president was NOT EXONERATED based on the evidence and not that there was "no collusion" it shows there was collusion and attempts to collude but states collusion is not an offense that is legally chargeable AND that they can't and would not charge the president because they were not allowed to prosecute him. Mueller did decide to throw in the fact that Trump can be prosecuted once he is no longer president. This will get discussed during hearings and all the stupid "Total exoneration!" wailing will be shown to be what it is...bullshit. So, hopefully the media will cover this properly and stop talking about the "politics" and start stating this is actually the goddamn procedure Congress is supposed to follow after a report like this. They are supposed to have these hearings and people that are asked to come to testify are supposed to come and testify. This is their goddamn job. It is not a game. It is not a political sideshow. It is what we elected them to do and what they collect a paycheck to do. So, they should goddamn be doing it.
