Icon Magnitsky sanctions and adoptions...

So, when I am writing this stuff here I think it is obvious I am directing much of what I say at somebody like Marc, that may not understand what is going on or may not be paying attention.

I fully expect that Baerwald board readers are paying attention and attempting to keep up to date on what is going on.

Peter mentions Magnitsky and something important that should be understood is that "adoptions" was the code word, or cover word, for the Magnitsky act and Russian sanctions.

Whenever Trump and his associates or the Russians mention "adoptions" they mean the Magnitsky act and sanctions on Russia. This was the trade off for the "dirt on Hillary Clinton" that was discussed at the Trump Tower meeting. The Russians offered dirt on Hillary, hacking her and her associates as well as the DNC, and in exchange Trump if elected president would work to drop the sanctions and kill the Magnitsky act.

The Magnitsky act allows the US government to freeze Putin's personal assets if he does things that are dangerous or hostile to the United States and our allies. Putin has a lot of money in the United States as he is thought to be the richest man in the world...because he runs a murderous kleptocracy. Which by the way is the standard Trump is attempting to impose on the United States...because Trump thinks Putin's methods are how things should be done.

Several people on the Trump team discussed this with Russian contacts and Trump, Manafort, Flynn and others all knew and RNC documents were altered for the Republican convention to reflect the idea that the Magnitsky act and Russian sanctions should go away under a Trump presidency.

The man in the video that Peter posted is Bill Browder, the person primarily responsible for the Magnitsky act, and Putin mentioned Browder by name at the Helsinki summit as somebody that Vlad would like the United States to hand over to him.

Make no mistake, Putin wants Browder dead, and so this request was obscene of course and any past US president would have told Putin to screw himself when he said this but Trump said he thought it was a great idea...and thought about it for a couple days before his idiotic team forced a statement to be made that no the United States would not turn over anybody (Putin also wanted our former ambassador to Russia Mike McFaul) as we would never do something so stupid.

You can be sure though that Trump, were it up to him, would have given Putin McFaul and Browder were it within his power to do so. Which is why it took two days to get a response about this out. As Trump just idiotically nodded along and called it a great idea when Putin mentioned it.
