as an aside, Robert Stroud was actually quite the ornithologist at Folsom Prison, but the rep followed him to the Rock. [my company also does bay cruises and so i circle Alcatraz 5 times a day...although the narration tape doesn't clarify that part of Stroud's story. hmm, it's almost like we're being lied to - by omission or otherwise - each and every day...]
