i'm late here, for i haven't known what to say, really; such things are too hard for anyone's words to soothe. but you have been in my thoughts the last few days, and my heart and prayers go out to you. your telling of the service and the community behavior seems as close to sweet as such a bitter thing can be.

the fact that Dan lived his life fully means that no matter how many years he had behind or possibly ahead of him, he won -he shone by his example. you won by knowing him - and we win by your sharing this with us. thank you.
