You're dead on there. My daughter had an event last week at school that was the result of a lot of hard work and it was a huge matter of academic prestige to be involved. 75 kids were involved, I'm guessing that only 30 or so had parents there. I was very disappointed in the attendance and involvement, as I can't imagine not wanting to share in the recognition these kids were there for.
