Under your presidential candidate's plan, that person would (if the plan goes through), then have to pay 18,600.00.  Hmmm that's 12,276.00 EXTRA TAX per year (in the case of the 300K earner, that's uh...DOUBLE).   That, I think is called SOCIALISM.  What is the justification for disproportionate taxing of the rich to expand programs, and in the case of Social Security, a program that is going to go bankrupt anyways and ironically not provide for the sector that is supporting it the most, namely young working people and young families (the majority of whom support Obama).   And, it is an attack upon the rich to fund the less rich.  I don't equate wealth with greed, as many people do, and if somebody's hard work or entrepreneurship made it so they could earn more, why should they be penalized?   Why?

Eugene, it sounds to me that you are at least fiscally conservative. Would that be a fair assuming that? It's as David says "1/100 of the country is strangling all the rest" that is what the main stream press will sell all day long and so when you have a willing media and a bunch of have nots and millions of illegal aliens it's an easy sell for Obama. Is it Socialism? You bet it is. Someone has to be the villan in this scenerio and guess who it is. It's the guy who is working his ass off for either himself of moving up in the corporate world. What fiscal liberals never understand is that by doing this they are killing capitalism because it kills the drive of the producers in the U.S.  And you are not picking on some big corporation you are picking on mom and pop business. Sean had a women call in who had a relatively small mom and pop business and she explained in detail how taxes and regulation were killing her. She named off like 2 tax things that were about to put her under. Space Alien acted like he had never heard anything remotely like this, and promised to look further into that matter because he surely did not want to penalize small business.
