Haven't read Sting's book, and won't. I agree, he's a pompous ass.

I read Summers' book right after I finished Clapton's autobiography. The contrasts were pretty incredible, where Clapton achieved fame early and sustained it, despite his best efforts to self-destruct in some cases. Summers was constantly chasing success and wound up finding it by basically riding someone else's coattails. I've also really enjoyed reading these older guys who were pretty much self taught on the guitar.

I've developed an appreciation for Andy's jazz albums. I think he's at his best when he's interpreting someone else's stuff, like on the Monk album, but he's got good chops.
