I think the comments by Reg are wonderfully put and certainly contain some truths....I am all for equal treatment of everyone, for helping those who do not have as much, for a fair and right America and world.

However, it is hard to stomach messages like those from people who are some of the most extreme examples of wealth, and who conducted themselves in private like rabbits in breeding season. I agree with todays overemphasis in the media on scandal, but that does not mean that we should ignore someones personal life while they are preaching the greater good and fairness in society etc.... How can one trust a person who conducts themselves in their personal life in an untrustworthy manner? A person needs to lead by example to some degree, which was sadly lacking in the Kennedy's. If it takes handsome, well spoken rich men to enlighten and empower people, it is a sad world. I refuse to be impressed by men who grow up with golden spoons in their mouths, who uttered all kinds of platitudes while behaving in dishonorable ways in private.

As far as Obama goes, only time will tell. I cannot see that this preacher he is associated with will single handedly kill his presidential hopes, although I think that people have a right to be concerned about it....I wonder what they would say if McCain attended a church with a white preacher who made similiar type comments about other races?
