I LOVED Steve Earle. Thought that he was "da bomb," per se. Fell back into liking him more after his short- term prison stint with his few releases since being released. I didn't really care for his last couple of albums. "F The CC" was even just okay at best. The political bs didn't bother me, because he, like others, stands behind what he sings for the most part. And as much as I am a people person, it doesn't bother me that Earle even treated some of his musicians as some of the worst out there; I know for a fact. Hell, mellencamp did that for years. Probably still does. It's the fact that Steve is a sorry-for-himself and woe is me, and Nashville sucks and wasn't really even a place for him to call home. Just a place to stay when he wasn't on the road. He burnt so many damn bridges in Nashtown, it's not even funny. And they were damn good folks too. Now, with Mr. New Yawker, he's now a man o' expertise of the community and he's already now "at home." He blasts Nashtown in the new Paste and another publication, and makes it sound that it wasn't worthy of his presence or his life. I;m not even from TN but know of the best musicians in the industry there. And to diss that place as he has done is blasphemy to his fans [but he doesn't care] and hopefully his career now. Mr. Earle is now using some hip-hop beats on his new record, apparently, and has a new "Guitar Town"- like followup on his new release. I wouldn't buy the piece of garbage that he calls his latest work, music, etc. And I sure as hell ain't buying into Steve Earle anymore. 'Nuff said [no apologies to Steve Earle].
