I've always thought that Tunnel of Love was one of his best overall albums, both in terms of theme, songwriting, and musicianship. It's definitely of a time and place for me, and maybe that's why I've got the affection for it, but it's the Bruce album that gets queued up more than any other for me. Darkness is next, followed by The River and The Rising.

No accounting for taste I suppose....which explains the Van Halen.
