Hell, yeah, Mess..good one, that was one of my all-time favs, can't believe they weren't mentioned up until now.

Then there's Mann-Appell, Crewe-Gaudio...and I've really dated myself with those ones, but....I can still see those 45's turning with labels like REO, Cadence....

Can I throw in Burt Bacharach/Hal David?   I don't know if that can be considered rock....but it rocks more than Brecht/Weil  heh heh.....
