Lennon/McCartney is the obvious choice except for the fact that they didn't actually write together very much. As Paul details in his autobio, and as was speculated elsewhere for years, they largely wrote solo from "Rubber Soul" on. And the material from "Rubber Soul" through "Abbey Road" is the heart of their songwriting legacy.
