"If only we could get 'the media' behind us"

I know what you meant, but I take exception with what you're saying...(sorry in advance for the nitpicking)

Here's why -

Media means just about anything that's made for intellectual (eyeball/eargoggle) consumption.

What David does is media.

What Bill O'Rielly does is media.

What Stephen Spielburg does is media.

'Media' is an overabused generalization that diminishes and homogenizes disparate art forms.

It's somehow morphed into 'Exposure' or 'Attention' just put the word 'national' in front of it....

It seems to me that what you were saying was that you want to rally people...

There's an overabundance of media - yet the populace won't have what you're talking about...so what(really who)comes first? The Media or the Populace?

Polls are notoriously skewed - they're run or solicited by folks with their own interests.

Sadly, someone figured out that a modern day Tokyo Rose could make the owner some serious dough.

It's an inexcusable disservice.

Look, I respect you and your opinions.

But my opinion on abortion is informed by my opinion on human potential.

Aldous Huxley figures prominently in this.

It's been debated on this board over and over again.
