David, Just for a minute put yourself in the shoes of a father living in Iraq during the time of Saddam. Your family has been taken and shot in front of you after you were forced to watch them being tortured and raped. Read that last line again...the tortured and raped part...try and envision that for just a moment. Would you be at all angry that you would be helpless to do anything to stop it? What crime did your family commit? None...it was you...you spoke out against Saddam and his regime. You've never been one to sit back and be quiet. Multiply that scenario by tens of thousands...maybe hundreds of thousands. Yeah, I know...this is silly what I'm trying to do but work with me.Having lived in Iraq your entire life you have no concept of a world other than that which you know. I suppose maybe you would be better off left to your miserable future and the US should not become involved on your behalf...but we are. Whose side are you on?The Americans don't have any obligation to help you but they are. They are sending men and women to die in an effort to bring stability and freedom to your land.Whose side are you on?You're a developing life inside your mother...moments from birth but your mother would rather have a doctor crush your skull and painfully end your brief life rather than allow you your chance at a life. She could just as easily hand your miracle of a life over to another family who have been waiting to adopt a child but she's too selfish for that...she opts for infanticide instead. Whose side are you on?Maybe you're thinking I've oversimplified all this. You could define some situations which weren't so easy but for each of those I could probably offer up ten others which are no more complicated than what I've described above. Kevin g
