Kevin. You're right, it is silly what you're trying to do. First, Saddam, like his spiritual cohorts the Shah of Iran, Batista, Pinochet, Noriega, etc, et al, was
largely a creation of the United States--we thought we could use him to harry and dismay our
prime enemy of that moment, Iran, and so supported him by supplying with weapons, and trained
his cohort of torturers at our fabled School of the Americas. Like Noriega, Saddam overstepped his
authority and became an annoyance to the US, and so we decided to start taking him down. That
may be news to you, but it certainly is not to your average literate Iraqi.Second, it's hard for me to imagine that massive aerial bombing of a largely civilian population can
in any way be construed as helping said civilian population. The destruction of their infrastructure
didnt much help either.Third, this late-term abortion you describe is a very rare procedure. The vast number of abortions
occur in the first term. I am as opposed as anyone to the process you so lasciviously describe, and
I can't imagine it occurring except in the most dire circumstance. Eugene could probably give you
an exact statistic, but it wouldn't matter, because your mind, such as it is, is made up. If you want
to reduce abortions, make birth control available to poor people. But your religion does not allow
that, so you use basic intellectual dishonesty to defend the indefensible. You and I discussing anything more complex than gardening or the weather will go nowhere. Best to let sleeping cobras lie.
