i think there is room to debate much of this and i thought that there were good points made by more than one person, but, this is not a place where one can come and speak conservative views and expect to be well received because of the group-think which exists here. i'd be willing to bet that there are several more closet conservatives who quietly watch from the sidelines who are hesitant to speak freely on this forum because of the backlash that will follow. it would probably help if we'd all tone it down a bit and maybe concede a thing or two every once in a while rather than be so firmly dug in that all discussion is stifled. i'm as guilty as anyone of holding fast to my beliefs.

maybe we all ought to go around the room and say something nice about some body's point of view with whom you disagree? did i just say that?
