You got almost 15 years out of cat? I love cats but have never had one that long. We got one about the time my son Sean was born in 1996. It was part Siamese and a bit skittish and as it turned out my son was alergic to it.
We ended up putting it outside for the most part and a family two doors down loved it and fed it all the time. Eventually we gave up going and getting the cat because it would double back to the other house and finally we just gave it to them.
