Just read an article that states that Bush signed legislation as Texas Gov that allowed hospitals to cut off medical aid (life support) for patients in a hopeless state and unable to pay medical bills. And now he and Congress enter into the Terry Schiavo controversy.Next, we learn that while conservatives scream about marriage and family values, they profess in this case a husband doesn't know what his spouse may have wanted and float comments that the husband may have harmed Terry Schiavo and put her in this condition. One great preacher of family values, Sen. Rick Santorum, the man who stated homosexual relations are no different from incest, child molestation and bestiality, says Mr. Schiavo should divorce his wife to let those who know better make her treatment decisions. John McCain, that man of supposed stellar integrity, states that the Federal Govt stepping in is not an infringement upon States' rights. Now we have the other conservative corner that hollers about activists judges, but now the Bush Adminstration has the opportunity to have what? An activist Federal judge step in and show a little activisim? Lastly, the Bushies, those great patriotic Americans, have put forth a budget that cuts 350 million from Veteran healthcare. My point about all of this? What does it take for the American people to become outraged over all of this fakery of the Bush Adminstration that only takes action when it is for pure political expediency. I have never seen a group of political charlatans with absolutely no principled political philosophy at all. The only thing consistent about these bunch of conservatives is their height of shameful hypocrisy.
