Icon Kevin G moons the crowd!

You are a very bizarre individual Kevin. That's ok with me because so am I. Wouldn't have it any other way. The thing is though we could probably never understand each others strangeness. On matters political I tend to be more serious, you tend to be the class clown. Hey, we all have a different sense of humor right? I guess you're probably wondering where I'm headed with this so I'll explain.

I read your post and sat staring at my computer screen. Probably looked like a little puppy...head tilted to the side...looking all lost and wide eyed. Then a grin broke across my face and then I began to giggle. Chuckle turned to belly laugh to hysterical tears pouring down my cheeks rolling on the floor laughing fit.

You had verbally mooned us. There was Kevin G's ass on my screen. Then I read it again and I thought wait...maybe he's serious. I read it again. Nope, can't be...is he serious? I think he is! Maybe he's not mooning but Kevin G has sure showed us his ass...maybe he has accidentally exposed himself...Jesus H. Christ that's it!

So if I read what you're saying correctly you're calling for more muckraking nonsense reporting to create some sort of fair and balanced media atmosphere...do I have that correct? You think stories about who gave the finger, said fuck in public, or called someone an asshole matter? You think it's newsworthy to report and photograph every time someone falls down? You think we have too many stories about Cheney saying fuck and Bush choking on a pretzel or falling off his bicycle and not enough about Kerry falling down on the slopes or saying fuck in an interview with Rolling Stone, or getting caught on video making nasty remarks about Bushco...which by the way for the sake of fairness I guess was played over and over and over on tv across this nation and at least 300 times on CNN and still pops up every once and a while even now.

You do seem a bit...ahh...brainwashed by the insane right wing media ranters who do nothing but shout BIAS, BIAS, BIAS all day long 365 days a year. It's funny even here in "liberal" Massachusetts the number one talk radio station is 96.9 FM which gives us O'Reilly, Severin, Ingraham, Hannity...Rush is stuck on AM radio here. These clowns are all lined up every day to spin and bash and kick and scream about how awful those nasty Democrats are, how the "liberals" are destroying the world, the media is full of left wing nutjobs, Kerry is running a smear machine against Bush, every Richard Clarke or Paul O'Neill or Karen Kwaitowski has an axe to grind or book to sell, Moore is fat and a liar, Franken is stupid and a liar (Hannity said these last two yesterday as a matter of fact in the few seconds I had him on), and to play soundbites of every little utterance, grunt, or groan of anyone from the "left" to show why they are all liars and hypocrites and to shame the left for associating with degenerate trash from Hollywood. They of course follow up each soundbite with commentary about why this "proves" these people are insane, evil, lying, hateful hypocrites so you fully understand why you should avoid them at all costs. You seem to see this odd little fantasy world they live in as reality.

Is there a left wing equivalent to this giant Wurlitzer for the right? Mike Moore's film? No, not really because it's a static thing...it's one two hour statement from one guy that you have to pay to see. You have to buy Franken's book if you wish to read it or search for or pay for satellite radio to hear him on Air America (does this even still exist?). So if there is a machine that traffics in bias in this country in a big way it works for the right. Sinclair Broadcasting anyone? 60 Minutes and CBS News who I know you dislike and have been trained to disbelieve have one of the best reputations in the business for  investigative reporting. Now how their reporters vote doesn't really matter does it? It does if you are a talk radio host. I don't know if you listen to these people Kevin but your opinion seems quite informed by them.

The big juicy story for the left is the one about how Dubya paid to get his girlfriend an abortion in the early 70's (when it was illegal mind you). The media if they were so left leaning could jump all over that but they don't...why? First because the woman who had the abortion does not want to talk about it. No woman = no story. Second the guy that has tracked this stuff down is Larry Flynt, ( http://www.laweekly.com/ink/04/30/news-blume.php ) not exactly a guy a lot of people would be willing to listen to. The fact remains though that by your standard this story would be front and center on 60 Minutes or the New York Times...it's not. Does this story really matter? I don't think so because all it would show is that Bush is a well connected, privleged, hypocrite...not exactly big news. What anyone selling this story would hope though is that it creates damage...maybe someone like you, an anti-abortion guy, would buy into it and change his mind on Bush. I really don't think that would work, what with the players we have involved.

Remember the days when Chevy Chase would do Ford and be falling down and tripping over stuff all the time. People thought that was funny, even Gerry Ford found it funny. Now Chase would be labeled a partisan political hitman that was attacking the president to make him look bad. He'd be slandered as part of the "liberal Hollywood elite" that was all out to get the president. He'd be called a "hater" and talk show goons would tell stories about him and make sure you believed he was a hater.

Times do change. It used to be funny when someone fell down, as long as they didn't get hurt. Please pull your pants back up though, not everyone wants to see your ass and in this political environment the right wing has created you'll be accused of not having "family values."
