I think you're right. We will see disruptions, but they will be sporadic and disconnected ( I hope). The FBI is monitoring chatter and has already broken up the more severe plots being planned. I never thought I'd be thankful for the NSA, but there it is. The best path forward should be to keep reserve police nearby known hotspots on alert, with NG on standby in case of serious emergency. We can't really put a police presence at polling places - the optics would play right into the trumpist's narrative.
As for the military's 5th column narrative, there is a right wing presence in the ranks, but it is a lot less than they proclaim. The latest polling of the military from Stars and Stripes puts it in the low teens. The command structure place themselves as defenders of THE CONSTITUTION not the president. To me it appears that any dissention in the ranks will be swiftly dealt with.
That being said, I'm still wearing my SAPP gloves tomorrow when I vote. I may get mace for the general.
