Nope, that hasn't been my experience. Going back to college in the very late 80s and early 1990s, the first people looking to shut down free speech were almost always from the Left. It's an estimate, but I'd give it 75% or more. I identify as being just slightly to the left (much more often vote Dem), but this is an honest observation.
