I appreciate that, EEE. Indeed, I've seen enough officers adopt that very commanding tone to understand that they must teach that at the academy. And I can imagine an officer getting there with a particularly uncooperative subject. But I don't appreciate when they start there with people who are obviously confused or just inebriated. Using some judgment is OK. Where are the police unions in this? They ought to be promoting the heck out of smarter policing as it would ultimately make their own members both safer and also more-valued in the community.
