Agree, but I wonder if the other side could counter with the Left glossing over what were very often NOT peaceful protests last summer in places like Atlanta, Santa Monica (my favorite British-goods store got absolutely trashed for no good reason), or Portland.  The inability of people in intractable positions to even speak to one other without resorting to emotional name-calling or making often incorrect assumptions about each other is dismaying.  

This'll seem like excuse-making for the Right here, but I'm serious.  From a position where I have to interact with folks on both sides of the divide, I can tell with 100% certainly that they BOTH make assumptions about each other (motivations, goals, rationale) that are either entirely false or are at least manufactured.

Sorry, but to quote an awful human being, "it is what it is."  Of course, that would also have to mean that sometimes the overt prejudice that people get accused of . . . is exactly that, too.  Is it a cop-out to call out both sides in this way?  Some might say so.  I do not.
